Edlyft is excited to partner with top tech companies for a unique opportunity that will provide students in tech from all backgrounds with the skills they need to thrive in their future careers.

Selected students will be matched with a mentor to guide and support them in their tech journey monthly over 6 months.

Program Eligibility

The Edlyft Intern Development program was designed for students from historically underrepresented communities in the tech industry.

This includes, but is not limited to, students who self-identify as:

  • Black/African American
  • Native American
  • Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander
  • First-generation
  • Low-income
  • Transfer students
  • LGBTQ+
  • Female

Criteria

Enrolled full time in university

On track to complete their degree in 2026

Currently pursuing (or considering) a B.A./B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field or taken at least Data Structures

Can commit to participating in the Summer Technical Interview Prep training program which involves meetings 2-4 hours/week from June - Aug 2023

Can commit to meetings 1x/month from May to Oct 2023

Is Edlyft Intern Development program an internship
No, Edlyft Intern Development program is NOT equivalent to being an intern. As a full-time student during the term, we want to ensure you successfully navigate your courses, while also connecting you with mentors who will coach you along the way.
What does the time commitment look like?
Edlyft  Intern Development was created to be light touch support as your navigate applying to tech internships. The commitment ranges from as little as 2-3 hours a month from March through October; Over the summer there is a technical interview prep course that is 1-2 hours a week, with the option to get more support as needed.
Who can apply ? Is this relevant for me if I'm not a computer science or Engineering major?
Anyone who meets the following requirements:

1. Taken data structures
2. Expected graduation in 2024, 2025, or 2026
3. Interested in entering the tech industry
4. Eligible to work in the US

If you don’t meet these requirements, you can still sign up for Edlyft OnTrack to hear about future opportunities.
Will I receive a job offer by participating?
Our data suggests that students in this program are more likely to get 2 stages further in their application process.
Am I eligible if i'm a graduating senior or an international student ?
Unfortunately, we are not currently accepting graduating seniors or international students. You can still sign up for Edlyft OnTrack to hear about future opportunities.
What companies can I be paired with?
As of now we have 3 partner companies that you may be matched with: LinkedIn, Tinder, and Dropbox
What if I’m new to CS?
Wonderful! We are excited that you are pursuing Computer Science! At this time, we are only accepting students who have completed their Data Structures course. You can still sign up for Edlyft OnTrack to hear about future opportunities.
How is this program free for students?
Yes, Edlyft's Intern Development program is completely free for students. The cost is covered by our company industry partners. Accepted students are not expected to pay to participate.
